BB-1 Described as 'Key Well'
The Broadford Bridge-1 exploration well in the UK’s weald basin has been described as a ‘key well’ by UK Oil & Gas Investments plc’s (UKOG) Chairman Steve Sanderson.

“What we’re trying to do here is replicate what we saw at Hawk’s Hill,” Sanderson said in a brief video posted on the company’s Twitter page.
“If we actually find the same sort of oil in the kimmeridge limestones here, then what that will do is show that we’ve essentially got a continuous oil deposit all the way from Horse Hill…and that shows we’re looking at a continuous oil deposit which…will likely cover most of the weald basin of south east England,” he added.
“There’s a lot of oil that’s going to be in the ground…We’re interested in what we can get out…that would be very significant for us at UKOG and that would be very significant for the UK,” Sanderson continued.
On June 26 UKOG revealed that wet gas readings maintained high levels throughout the coring of the well, being almost identical to those seen at the Horse Hill-1 kimmeridge limestone oil discovery.
The well is said to be on schedule and under budget.
